After you warm up the iron, what to do is open the thing (sorry i don't know what its called) and roll your hair up in it. Hold it for about 15 seconds, and slowly release it. After, apply hairspray to keep it in place.

Amika hair iron... how to curl?
Ok, so I just bought the Amika flat iron (the one that also curls) at the mall. I straightened my hair (AWESOME!) and it's just as great as when the girl showed it to me. One small problem... the girl put this really awesome curl in my hair in like two seconds, and I want to curl my hair all over. I can't figure out how to use it to curl! The directions for curling are brief, uninformative, and I just can't seem to get it. Anyone have good directions, or a website with help/info/photos for curling?
Thanks!
ps- yes, it is worth it, for anyone who has considered purchasing one ;)Amika hair iron... how to curl?
difficult to describe, but ill take a shot at it. there are quite a few ways, but try this one. take the section you want to curl and comb it smooth and away from your head *sideways*. hold the iron a few inches away from you scalp with the hair between the iron. wrap that piece around one side of the iron. now close your iron and twirl/pull it away it, unspinning the hair your wrapped around the iron. you need to wrap and twirl the hair in the same direction or there will be this horrible kink in it where the curl begins. troll youtube and you'll find hundreds of video's n how tos if you're looking for other techniques, i just gave you the one i find to be the easiest. Forewarning, USE THERMAL PROTECTANTS! flat irons are hot, like center of the sun hot and can fry hair in a flash, a thermal spray wont cause any grief and itll save your hair. please invest in one especially if your playing around learning curls, as the hair stays in contact with the iron for a much longer time then basic flat ironing. Im not trying to scare you, just warn you that if you hold the iron in one spot for too long, it WILL damage your hair. use a good thermal spray like reken fabricate or spray starch or hot sets, or matrix sllek look flat iron spray. hunt around, you'll be able to find one on sale somewhere, but please please please dont muck about with out one.

How can i curl my hair to get it curly everywhere?
I have straight hair and i curl my hair a lot with a curling iron but i do it in the morning for school which means i only have a little of time, it takes me 10-15 min. its pretty fast because i hold every piece for 8 sec. but it doesn't get very curly on the top, like only the bottom half is curly. how can i get the top part to get curly also? should i use a different curling iron or is the problem because i hold for only 8 secs.?How can i curl my hair to get it curly everywhere?
I'm no professional but I put small sponge rollers in my hair at night and in the morning I take them out at an angel than I run my fingers through it to style the curls the way I want them than recurl with the curling iron on areas that aren't the way I want them to be (that's mainly my top curls, the back always looks great) Hopefully that should give you more time on the top curls. How can i curl my hair to get it curly everywhere?
try using curlers and put them in the night before, and it stays for a few days and has an all over affect
oh no you should defuice it!
what you do is get you hair super wet and put some prodect in it(jell)
and then you go to the vent flip your hair over and curnch it!
it works every time for me!
it takes 5 min.
If you're doing it every day anyway, why don't you get a perm?

How to use a curling iron? i must be doing it wrong or something.?
I have a curling iron, actualy a few. and i want to use the barrel curling iron but everytime i use it it doen't curl my hair, it just leaves a ';fish hook'; on the end of the section of hair. I can't get the other ,smaller, curling irons to work eather. What am I doing wrong? I allow them to heat up enough..and I have straight, long, thin hair..so. whats the problem? How can I make tthe curling iron curl my hair??? Its funny..I have no problem with the spiral curling iron. just all the regular ones. How to use a curling iron? i must be doing it wrong or something.?
The ';fish hook'; look happens when you don't get all of the end of the hair inside the clamp. Start with the curling iron at the top of your section of hair, then pull it down all the way to the end, being sure that the ends of the hair are completely inside the clamp of the curling iron, then roll to the top of your head. After you are done, gently work the clamp release so that you can pull the hair out without having to unroll it. Voil脿, curls with no ';fish hooks';!
If the rest of the hair doesn't curl, work mouse into your hair while still wet, and blow dry with a diffuser. Then, when you curl your hair, add a little spritz of hairspray before you let it go.
There is also the possibility that you are trying to put too much hair on the curling iron at one time. This will prevent the heat from getting to the top. Only put about an inch of hair on the curling iron at one time.If you have really long hair like I do, you will need to curl the bottom half of the hair, release, then curl the top half of the hair. How to use a curling iron? i must be doing it wrong or something.?
It could be just the type of hair you have. My cousin had thin straight hair and never could get it to curl. She finally figured out that by spraying it w/ hair spray while it is still wrapped around the curling iron does help some, and by leaving your hair in the iron longer.
HaIrSpRaY...
-after blowdryin ur hair, put into sections to how ur gonna curl
-grab a section ur gonna curl, hairspray it
-then, comb through so the spray spreads.
-grab the curlin iron nd curl
-hairspray lightly to the hair thats bein curled. use a napkin or ur fingers nd spread the hairspray around the hair...careful its hot
-after 10-20 seconds of holdin the curlin iron, unwind the iron nd hairspray again to the curl...
-do this to all sections
-run ur fingers through som of the curls wen ur all done all around to loosein som of them
Try taking really small sections, to much hair will give that look because the hair can't reach the heat to set the style.

How to stop my curling iron from leaving indents?
When i curl my hair with an iron, in the mouth part(i hope you know what i mean, the part you *clamp* your hair in so it holds it in place while you twist the rest of your hair around the barrel.)
When i do that it leaves an indent and looks bad. It mostly happens with my big one (like 1 1/2 inch)
So any tips or tricks on how to stop that? How to stop my curling iron from leaving indents?
When you are curling your hair start at the root and then gently pull the barrel to the ends the very ends and then start curling up and you'll have no awful indents.
Haha the same thing happened to me.

How do I curl my hair with a flatiron?
My bestfriend's sister got her hair curled using a flatiron for dance line. It looked so pretty. The curls were much more elegant than using a curling iron. I have a CHI flat iron just like this:http://www.freewebs.com/hairbeautychi/ch
Can you incluinstructionsons or a video that shows me how to curl my hair using a flatiron. I have very thick hair (: thanksHow do I curl my hair with a flatiron?

How can I make my hair wavy/curly with out a curling iron?
I want my hair to be wavy/vurly but i dont wanna use a curling iron. Is there other ways I could make it wavy/curly?How can I make my hair wavy/curly with out a curling iron?
Okay so 1 way to do it is to put in braids at night and in the morning, take them out.make sure to braid as much of the edges you can. After you take out the braids, don't brush it, because it make it it poofy and frizzy so instead put gel and hairspray and scrunch it or just leave it.
Scrunch it

Also, when you get out of the shower put your hair in a messy bun when it is still wet
Or you can use normal curlers
If you dont want to use a curling iron because it damages your hair, put in heat proctectant spray before curling so that it helps protect you hair from the heat lol. If its because you dont have a curling iron, use a straightener. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGwZYy24AHow can I make my hair wavy/curly with out a curling iron?
sleep with it in a wet bun
Rollers and a blow dryer.... But using a curling iron and rollers is your best bet.
you can take a shower before you go to sleep and then put your hair in a french braid. then sleep with it like that, and right when you wake up in the morning take the braid out and your hair will be perfect waves/curls.
put in small braids before you go to bed, open them up in the morning
with wet hair, you could put it in a messy bun and sleep on it overnight. or you could braid it and it would be wavy
Try setting curlers in your hair and leaving it for the night. When you take them out the next day, use some sort of holding spray or even mouse to hold it together.
I find that when I plait my hair it makes it curlier...however my hair is already wavy, it just makes it curlier...
good luck
scrunch it to make it wavy,
or curl it with a straightner.
email me if you want to find out how!
Ok this is what i do. I wash my hair so its wet. Then put 4 braids in my hair. Sleep with them. When you wake up wavy hair.
when your hair is wet, but not soaked
spray some curling spray in and scrunch it a lot
i use uptight by bed head
Here is a great way to curl your hair without any heat.

Or, you could braid your hair while wet and sleep on it.
either take a shower before you go to bed and put your hair in many tight braids for more curly or... fewer braids for just wavy. Or you could also try sleeping with your wet hair in a messy bun. That is what I do. :)
braid your hair, or put your hair in a messy bun and sleep in it overnight. or put it in many braids or tight curled buns to make it look fancy and all. or get curlers so u won't have to use an iron
I've done this before :]
All you have to do is roll your hair into tiny little swirly balls all over your head and clip them in with bobby pins and sleep with them on, then the next day take all the pins out and your hair will look like Shirley Temple's. Not kidding.
Hope I helped :D
When i was young, my mom would put a bunch of little braids in my hair right after I washed it. Once dry it looked like it was crimped.
You can also get some pink-spongy curlers. They are soft and it's not as uncomfortable to sleep in as hard curlers.
You can also make ';rag curls'; Easy and inexpensive. See this blog for excellent directions and pictures

Well, you could either put t up in braids while your hair's still wet and when you get up in the morning, keep them in, and take a flat iron over the still braided hair and then take them out. that'll make it wavy.
to make it curly, you could take a flat iron, put it at the tpo of your head, twist it, and pull it down really fast. and after you've finished your entire head, ';scrunch'; it with some mousse, and spray with a bit of hair spray.
There are a couple of options you can....

Is there a good product to use before you curl your hair?
I have hair that naturally has a lot of body and wave. I don't have ringlets but when it gets wet it does have curl. I love how my hair looks when I curl it with a barrel curling iron but by the end of the night it always falls flat no matter how much hairspray I use. Also, it's sometimes frizzy; nothing like when i straighten it. Is there any pre-curling iron treatment I can use that reduces frizz but keeps my curls in tact?Is there a good product to use before you curl your hair?
I would suggest using both a leave in conditioner and a heat protector for your hair. The leave in conditioner will help your hair with frizz you already have while a heat protector will prevent more frizz from appearing.

My hair is naturally straight and everytime i try to curl it with a curling iron it wont last for more than an hour or so. Are their any products or different techniques i can use to help the curls last longer? How can i get my hair to curl?

Spray it with hairspray right before you curl it, then spray it again when it is on the curling iron, and then spray it again, when it cools. Don't brush the curls, use your fingers to separate the curls. I have the same problem until I started doing this, and my curls will hold all night now. :)
Put a light moose in your hair before you curl. whether your hair is wet and you are blow drying it or if its dry...after your curl it spray with a product called spary wax- you can get it at wall mart it is got 2 be brand

How do you use a curling iron/do I need to use something on my hair with the curling iron?
You can always apply a gel or mousse to wet hair before you blowdry and then curl iron your hair but it all depends on the texture and thickness of your hair as well. Look for a product with a heat protect ant or protein spray to keep your cuticle layer healthy and oil is always good too.How do you use a curling iron/do I need to use something on my hair with the curling iron?
No, you dont HAVE to, you can just curl, hairspray, and go... but you also can use somehting in your hair as well! How do you use a curling iron/do I need to use something on my hair with the curling iron?
no. just put the very end of your hair in the lifting part, wrap the rest around the rod and then release. Spary hairspray on the new curl......maybe step outside too....j/k
how about some oil
it helps if u hairspray ur hair right before u curl it so take a chunk of hair, give it a spray, curl and when ur done with the whole head then hairspray all over
Well, you can get long, bouncy curls with a 2 in curling iron. Clamp a 3 in section of hair about 1 in from the end of the section. Roll the iron up your hair, being sure to keep the iron vertical. Hold for 5 seconds, then release. Repeat this all over your head. After I finish this, I like to finger comb my hair to give it a tousled, loose effect. If you're going for a more sleek effect though, just tug on the ends a little after you finish. That way, your curls are still sleek, but you don't look like Shirley Temple. :)

How do you curl hair to make hair appear fuller and thicker at the ends?
Would you curl in smaller sections???
I have a 3/4 inch curling iron, thanks to anyone with any help! :) xHow do you curl hair to make hair appear fuller and thicker at the ends?
Yes, take smaller sections when curling your hair with a curling iron. I'd use a 1/2 inch iron if I was you. After curling your hair, let your curls cool for a few minutes. Trust me, when you brush through your hair afterwards, then style your hair with your fingers, comb, or a pick, the style will stay in longer.

I was raised with 4 boys so my mom never did the ';girl'; stuff with me. I am looking at some styles that would be easy and fool-proof for some body or waves in my hair. How do you scrunch and curl your hair?
I am going to a wedding/vacaton soon and would like to know different ways to style it. i have long brown hair that comes half way down my back. It is slightly wavy if I do nothing to it but wash it and air dry it. I would like to learn how to scrunch it properly and curl it with a curling iron. Help please? How do you scrunch and curl your hair?
to scrunch take 1 inch sections and push up with ur hand and squeeze. to curl just take the culing iron and loop around ur hair 1 inch sectionsHow do you scrunch and curl your hair?
Use muse. After you get out of the shower, hair still wet, comb your hair with a wide tooth comb to get knots out. Then put in the muse. just grab your hair a scrunch your hand into a fist while holding your hair. and DON'T TOUCH it after that, leave it be,

after you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair really good and then spray curling spray (such as redken fresh curls... thats what I use) in your hair all over. then grab your hair going upward until your at the scalp, and press and hold for a few seconds. let fall gently and move on to the next piece of hair. after you are done, you may want to dry it with your hairdryer and a diffuser. add moose (or however you spell it) to your hair if needed, and use a touch of hairspray. Ta-Da... your hair is scrunched!

my hair comes out like this when i do that %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc212/zhhtg/People/Andrea/All%20Time%20Favorites/PICT3312.jpg
after you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair really good and then spray curling spray (such as redken fresh curls... thats what I use) in your hair all over. then grab your hair going upward until your at the scalp, and press and hold for a few seconds. let fall gently and move on to the next piece of hair. after you are done, you may want to dry it with your hairdryer and a diffuser. add moose (or however you spell it) to your hair if needed, and use a touch of hairspray. Ta-Da... your hair is scrunched!
How do you curl your hair? (dumb question plz help)?
I cannot curl my hair with a curling iron to save my life!! I always end up with weird crimped pieces, so could someone please explain to me how i curl my hair with a curling iron?
Thank you so much and best wishes:)?maddy? How do you curl your hair? (dumb question plz help)?
1. Divide your hair into small sections.
2. Take one section and put it on the side of your head and put the rest in a ponytail.
3. Get the curling iron and open it.
4. Take about a 1 inch wide strand of hair and place it near the bottom of the curling iron. Clamp it shut and make shure the hair is securely in there.
5. Roll the curling iron towards your face, roll it downwards, but stop about 3-4 inches from you head.
6.Hold the curling iron in that place for about 5 or 7 seconds, depending on how curly you want you hair.
7. After you curled that strand, slightly open and close the curling iron as you slide you hand down. This will release you hair from the curling iron. Do not unroll the curling iron, as you will lose the curl.
8. Continue with the rest of your head untill you are all finished.
9. To make your curls last use some hairspray or curling gel, or if you want you could use both!
You will get the hang of it, and find different ways that work for you. Good Luck! How do you curl your hair? (dumb question plz help)?

you got to use a VARY VARY good curler it might be pricey but its worth it
take a small section of hair and clamp it in the curling iron as far down as you can, then twist it making sure that you're not going against the bottom end (if that makes sense) hold it for a little bit then turn the curling iron so that its verticle and pull down while your pushing the clamp open
I hope it makes sense, and helps! lol
I've found that sleeping in rollers works better tho, and doesnt damage your hair. solar rollers are awesome!
ok here some tips and some that dont even need a curler
now if you have thick hair your going to want a bigger barrel curling iron...and thinner hair a smaller barrel..... now what my mom does is she parts my hair down the middle from nose and backwards and then puts half into a bun and then the rest she leaves down she then takes a small clump she brushs through it once then does the curling iron down so theres about 2 and maybe a half inchs left and then curls it around the barrerl...holds it for about 10 seconds tops the lets it go and runs her fingers through it does the rest of that side then does the other side
other tips is try getting some curling moose or curling hair products condisioners etc...
and if you want a easy curl try doing rollers in your hair before you go to sleep there acutualy not that bad to sleep on

How to curl your hair? [[best answer]]?
Hey how do you curl your hair??? With a curling iron?? Do you put mousse in it first AHH help? How to curl your hair? [[best answer]]?
I have very naturally straight hair, and i try keeping the damage towards it as minimal as possible. When i want my hair to curl, after my shower at night, after its freshly washed, i towel dry it, and add curling mouse. I scrunch my hair and then pull it all into a messy bun. I tye it there with a few elastics for it to stay while i sleep, and take it out in the morning when its dry. If any of the pieces are straight in the morning, i use a curling iron to fix them.
This way it looks more natural and pretty. How to curl your hair? [[best answer]]?
pull it straight and put the hot iron on it and curl away. for best results put an oil garner
crl first then hair spray i think thats how they do it at salons good luck
i use curling mousse first to help my natural texture come out, then i scrunch it w/ just a little but of hairspray, tthen use the curling iron and spray it all over with hairspray and go back and define some extra pieces . hope this helps !
Heres my way of getting nice curls';
1. Towel dry hair and add HERBAL ESSENCES CURLING MOUSSE and ANTI-FRIZZ CREAM.
2. Use a diffuser to dry hair
3. add hot curlers to your hair. They are much easier, faster, and more reliable than curling irons. I recommend them!
4. Leave in for 10 mins. Take out and finger-brush curls so they don't go away.
Enjoy your curls!
I think the easiest way is to just use a curling iron. And using mousse or hairspray can give some volume or extra hold to your curls. Also, I recommend using a leave-in conditioner or some kind of thermal protection cream to help protect your hair and prevent it from getting damaged by the heat.thick hair

How do you get your hair to curl???
my hair is really smooth and whenever i curl it, it goes down....i've tried with a curling iron, hair curlers, curling cream and product, and nothing worked.... i don't no what to try anymore!!How do you get your hair to curl???
After you wash your hair dry it just a little with a towel. Then put mousse on it, bend over looking down , and put more mousse working your fingers through your hair, then put non-aerosol mega hold hairspray.
I have that same problem, but this works, I use Herbal Essences mousse and spray. How do you get your hair to curl???
maybe you can try a perm...just not so curly...
It varies on the curling iron you're using, your hair texture, and exactly what products you use. Use a curl enhancing gel, spray, or mousse, and invest in a good, moderately expensive curling iron.
I suggest a 1 inch Hot Tools curling iron. It'll run you about 30 bucks and you can get it off the internet or from a beauty supply store.
You should also use HARD hold hairspray, tresemme, bedhead, or a good brand. Spray the hair before and IMMEDIATELY after curling it.
There are many many tutorials on curling hair so once you buy your iron just look up videos for curling with an iron on the internet.
try a diffusor to dry with along with the curl product...also make sure you are getting quality curl products!
When you get out of the shower put some mousse in your hair and scrunch it.
Good Luck! =]

I love you all %26lt;3I have light Brown/ Dirty Blonde hair. How do I make it have Beachy Wavy Curls without using a curling iron??
here is what i tell everyone on how to get perfect, beachy, wavy hair:
';It took me forever to figure out how to get my hair to look like that, but last week I found the perfect product. =)
it's called Waves of Envy Sea Mist, by Sunsilk. You can get it at Walmart.
What you do is take a shower at night, or when you have enough time to let it air dry completely and you don't need to go anywhere. you can use the matching waves of envy shampoo and conditioner if you want, and then wrap your hair up in a towel for about 10 minutes until it's just a little damp. Then spray the sea mist in sections about an inch wide and scrunch up your hair and twist it around your fingers.
Do this on your whole head, then seperate your hair into 4 sections: one on each side of your head and two in the back. Then put each section in a loose ponytail. Take the ponytail and gather all the hair up around the elastic so it's kind of like a bun, then take another elastic and wrap it around the loose hair to keep it in place. Do this for each section, and then sleep on it, or just let it air dry. This is why you can't go anywhere, cause it looks pretty ridiculous =P
After it dries completely (wait at least 2 or 3 hours), take out the elastics, and finger comb through your hair. Add some more sea mist spray to refresh the waves and maybe a shine spray to make it look really good.
And that's it. It's actually very easy, so good luck! It works like magic for me, so I hope you get similar results =)';I have light Brown/ Dirty Blonde hair. How do I make it have Beachy Wavy Curls without using a curling iron??
you could try and sleep with rollers in your hair over night, and that might give you the loose curls w/o the curling iron, just remember to brush lightly and hair spray before and after you take out the rollers.
uhm. i really dont know but a curling iron..
its either natural or curled using a curling iron.
sorry honey!
i know exactly what u are talking about.use aussie awesome volume spray gel.it works miracles!!! %26lt;3

make sure is hot start at ends and roll up if want curls down roll under, if want curls up roll up, use only like 1/4 inches pieces of hair, until till head done, also there are large or small rods use size you want. What is the appropriate way to use a CURLING IRON?
1. When you use a curling iron, the most important thing to remember is your hair must be dry. Using your curling iron on wet hair will result in fried-limp hair. If you’re worried about burning your hair even slightly, there are thermal protection products that can help prevent burnt hair.
2. If you have short hair, the best way to curl hair is to start at the crown. If you have medium to long hair, it’s better to start at the back of the head
3. To begin, separate hair into 1” to 2” sections and start from the tip of the hair and roll the iron until it is about an inch from the scalp. If you’re worried about burning yourself, slide a comb in between the curling iron and your scalp.
4. Hold the iron in the hair for about 10 seconds and then carefully open the curling iron and release the curl. Continue to repeat this for the remaining sections of hair that you wish to curl. If you’re hair is long, you may want to pin the curl with a bobby pin against the head before doing the rest of your hair.
5. Once the curls have cooled, you can use a holding spray to set the look and then unpin and style the curls using your fingers.
Curling irons are a great hairstyling aid that can add curl, body and bend to the hair when used properly. There are even special curling irons that can add spirals and zig zags to your hair. The curling iron’s barrel comes in several sizes, small for tight curls and large for bouncy curls.

Would a perm help my hair hold curl better?
My hair is pretty straight, and when I try to curl it with rollers or a curling iron, the curls just don't last...no matter how much product I use. I have shoulder length hair and have been thinking of getting it cut pretty short, but was wondering if a perm would help it hold curl better?
I don't want my hair to be curly ALL the time, tho. Could it also help with volume?Would a perm help my hair hold curl better?
well if you get a perm it will be curly all the time (but the curls will hold) and if you do get a perm and don't always want curly hair you can just straighten it.

I'm Asian and i'm looking for tips on curling my hair?
my homecoming dance is this saturday and i really want to curl my hair but my hair is naturally straight and curls don't stay in for very long. i'm looking for tips on how to keep my hair curled and also, if you're an asian female, how do you curl your hair? with a curling iron or hot rolls or what? and do you use hairspray or mousse?I'm Asian and i'm looking for tips on curling my hair?
Personally, I have naturally curly hair. However, my best friend has hair just like yours--it doesn't hold curl well, but I still get it to curl for dances.
1- When your hair is damp, put PLENTY of mousse through it and scrunch it as best you can
2-Let it air-dry, so as not to ruin whatever small amount of natural wave you may have.
3-Divide your hair into sections. Pin up the sections you're not working with, and curl only small pieces.
4-Curl small pieces working from the bottom up. Spray with hairspray *while on the hot iron* (it makes a HUGE difference). Leave for another 10 seconds after you spray it, and then gently take off the iron
5-Seperate curls for definition, and gently put more mousse through it.
6-Put shine serum through your hair to give it a bit more of a sleek, polished look. Curly hair doesn't reflect light as well as straight hair.
Hope that helps, hopefully it's not too vague (hard to describe...)I'm Asian and i'm looking for tips on curling my hair?
Beautiful straight black hair--one of the finest things about so many Asian women--absolutely beautiful...why do you want to modify it with curls? Part of the beauty is in how straight the hair can be. Don't curl your hair. Leave it straight.
Asian hair tends to be very strong but very resistent to curling because of its physiology. I would suggest that instead of trying to get spirals, why not consider waves? Waves may stay in your hair longer and are very versatile.
To get waves, you first need to prep your hair. Use a product that has lots of moisturizers and will encourage your hair to curl. In fact, I know a girl whose hair is straight and she is in this commercial:
http://hairstyles.nexxus.com/long-hairst
Nexxus products really do work well.
Hope this helped!
honey, i was in da same situation as u, and yes i am azn and yes i do have dead straight hair tat doesn't budge even when i try to scrunch it or curl it, well, if u want it perfect then go to a salon lik toni and guy to get it professionally done, but if u wanna do it urself, do this: go to ulta, go get da waver from bed head (just ask for it, its purple and big, and its 50 bucks) or if u want it actually curly instead of wavy, get da 1 or 1-1/2 inch curler (also from bed head), go to wal mart or target, get da john frieda frizz ease hair spray (tat thang is a miracle) and get any type of curling mousse tat smells good. when u do it, part ur hair and do it in 2 inch sections, put hair spray on da strand of hair before u curl/wave it, and right after u curl it, put hair spray on it again. when u have done all ur hair, put a bit of mousse in it. o yea by da way, go easy on da hair spray, cuz john frieda stays, and u don't want ur hair feelin lik a rock :] good luck sweetie and god bless!
put hairspray on each your hair only each part you want to curl. use curling iron. big size curling iron for long and medium lenght hair and small size iron for short hair. i'm guessing you have a long hair coz you want to curl it.
after curling, put hairspray all over your hair to keep the style.

How do I curl my hair with a large barrel?
I have medium length hair with no layers. [Boring, I know] D:
I try to curl my hair with a large barrel curling iron and ALMOST every time,
there will be like a crease at the bottom of the part I curled.
A huuuge crease,
like a bend.
Probably nobody knows what I'm talking about but I need help haha.
Im tired of my hair looking malfunctioned every time I try to curl it.
Heh.How do I curl my hair with a large barrel?
your putting the clip on the end of your hair!
instead of putting the clip on the bottom end of your hair, slide the iron from the top, and then start curling when you pull the iron about halfway down, then roll it up, release it a little bit, and keep on pulling until the ends are around the iron also. This tip not only gets rid of the clamp mark at the end.
This is a trick a lot of beauty stylist's use. It prevents your ends from frying, it gets rid of the crease, and it allows for evenly curled hair. How do I curl my hair with a large barrel?
It sounds like you are crimping the ends. Make sure you don't start rolling the iron until all of your hair is in the iron.

1.You could scrunch your hair .
These products work really good and it doesn't make your hair hard:
*Tresemme flawless curls hair moose(green)
*Garnier fructis curl shaping spray gel
*Garnier fructis full control hairspray
%26amp;+Don't put too much.
2. You could braid it , and let it stay for a while and then take it a loose and apply hairspray.
3. You could put hair rollers or curlers in your damp hair and let it dry then apply hairspray.Whats a really good way to get curly hair without curling it?
Just go to the store and get some curling shampoo! It sounds weird, but yes, they actually have shampoo that curls your hair without an actual hair curler... and it's healthy for your hair too!

Holding a curl made with a curling iron?
i have naturally curly hair, but i like the way big curls made with a curling iron look on people with straight hair. i've tried curling my hair with a curling iron and i've tried straightening it first and then curling it, but the curls fall flat either way and it looks like i just screwed up trying to straighten it. Any tips on how to make the curls stay and look nice?
i've tried tresseme hairspray and pantene hairspray and some other one, so please be specific, if you're answer is hairspray, i need a really extreme oneHolding a curl made with a curling iron?
pomade or a little gel and hair spray before and after you curl it. any by bed head. and check out the bed head curly hair line. it works well. and dont straighten it first. thats alot of unnecessary damage. just curl it like you would if you had straight hair.

I have that same problem. I have been told to use gel first, let it dry, then curl it. Finish with hairspray. I have wavy hair. It will stay straight for two days, but won't hold a curl.

How can I curl my hair?
I have curly hair, but I like cleaning up my curls with a curling iron. I got the conair infiniti curling iron (thickest one) for Christmas and I can't get it to work right. It barely curls my hair. Any suggestions on how to use it? Or any other techniques? I want big, loose, curls. How can I curl my hair?
Wrap your hair using chopsticksHow can I curl my hair?
Get a professional curling iron. I like ';hot tools professional'; stylers. It will work better and take barely any time!
You can also purchase a straightener (I like GHD or Corioliss) and curl with one of those. It's very easy and you can use it when you want to go straight.
you need to apply a straightening creme to towel dried hair. ( i like ATRtec smoothing creme) focus on the top layers and around front hairline. blow dry with a paddle brush, then go in with the curling iron. make sure to spray each section with a WORKING hairspray so it wont be stiff. when its all curles, put some serum in ur palms (not too much) and break up the curls. remember to curl each strand in a difernt direction, so it will look more natural.relaxers for summer

How can I curl thick straight hair easily?
I am going to a military ball tomorrow and have bought a cute head band to put in my almost shoulder length straight all one length hair. I always have alot of trouble curling my hair and having it hold. When I have curled it in the past it looks more flipped out instead of curly or wavy. Any tips on making my thick straight hair hold curl better??? I have a straigtener and curling iron to work withHow can I curl thick straight hair easily?
Hm, I'll just give you a full instruction for hair.
First, wash it. :P Dry it with COLD air, then when completely dry, apply anti-frizz softening cream. (If it doesn't need to be washed, then just apply the cream.)
Wrap bits and pieces of your hair around the NORMAL hair straightener, and pull it down like a you would with a ribbon. You should get serum for long lasting curls, aswell. Try L'oreal or Wella products.
Good luck. How can I curl thick straight hair easily?
try hairspray. or anything (besides gel) that says extra hold.

How come my hair doesn't curl?
I have long straight hair. If I try to curl my hair with a curling iron, heat set, or rollers, it becomes straight within an hour or two. Why is that? I have Caucasian hair. I have a lot of hair, but the individual hairs are fine in texture. How come my hair doesn't curl?
Your hair may be too fine. My hair straightens quickly too. What I suggest is taking the piece of hair before curling it and spray the piece with hairspray. Wrap the piece around the curler and spray with hair spray once its wrapped again. Hope that makes sense. It takes me some time but works for me.How come my hair doesn't curl?

JUST USE ALOT OF HAIRSPRAY!! That is what my friend has to do; if you want it curled just scrunch it with moose.
try using a textrizer on your hair and hair spray it while its on the curling iron
i dunno but i have the same problem, and my sister is a hair dresser and she just uses like paul mitchell spray gel and it works good and it holds alot longer
If your hair is naturally thin, it's possible that it will not curl no matter what you do.
because
your hair is too go0d for that
hairspray. that never happens to my friends i guess cause they use hairspray...
when you curl your hair using a curling iron, the curls are likely to go straight again after a few hours/days. You could try adding some hair spray and gel so the curls can stay in shape longer.

How can my curls remain after using a curling iron?
Hi! I have a problem...my hair is straight and I want to try something new to it. I curled my hair with a curling iron and they looked amazing but 5 minutes later my locks were undone and straight as before! I want my curls to look natural and not fake....so what hair spray should I use? And should I use it before or after curling my hair with the iron? I would appreciate any wise advice! Thanks!!!How can my curls remain after using a curling iron?
Try LIGHTLY spritzing the ';to be '; curled area with hair spray. Use the spray from a good distance so you don't end up with a sticky mess. Then curl your hair while the spray is still moist. You will hear a sizzling sound (not your hair burning...trust me). This is the sound of the spray sealing your curl. Undo the curler and then DO NOT touch the curl (finger comb, etc) until you finish your whole head. Give the curl time to set. Then, style as usual. Good luck!!How can my curls remain after using a curling iron?
I am glad it worked out for you!
use hair spray.
Well..I had the same problem once..one thing that i use on a daily basis is shine spray..(Hask pure shine) spray that on, preferably dry than wet hair and brush through and start curling ur hair while curling spray Suave hairspray on and take out. Dont brush cuz the curl will come out. You want to tease ur hair a lil with a comb and repeat till done. Then if u need to spray over finished look..
Hope I helped
put spritz on them
They have a spray out called spritz soft hold, by isoplus and it's good. After curlign your hair roll your hair in some soft rollers and spritz the hair while on rollers let dry. do not wet the hair just spray each roller and let dry or dry with hair dryer take hair down and it will hold your curls.
use hair curling gel and spray your hair with hair spray after you got your look you want! I have thin straight hair and it will stay for almost 8 hours this way!
I've found that setting the section of hair with cool, black tea before curling it makes it stay curled for longer. After you have finished, set with a light hairspray.

How do you curl hair to create a cheer curl look???
my daughtrer is in a cheer competition this weekend and the coach wants each girl to have their hair curled to have the cheer curl appearance. can you do this with a curling iron? or do you use rollers? i don't have any idea on how to accomplish this appearance... any suggestions????How do you curl hair to create a cheer curl look???
I belive this is what they are looking for, http://www.cheerhairelite.com/images/cro
In order to get this look, I would use curliers over night, and even hot iron the day of, using hair spray to keep it looking great! Don't forget the bow/ribbion.
Good luck! How do you curl hair to create a cheer curl look???
If the girls wear their hair in a high pony for competition (the usual) then put your daughter's hair in the ponytail the night before (clean, dry hair) and use setting lotion and little foam curlers to set the ponytail in little curls. Use a hair net (the kind little old ladies wear) to keep all the curlers in while she sleeps - just tie up the pony, not the whole head.
Next morning, slick back ';wispies'; with hair gel or use bobby pins that match hair color for the really stubborn ones. If absolutely necessary, you can gently take down the pony and put it back up, but it should be OK.
It's far better to use rollers than a curling iron.

Whats the best way to curl your hair?
i have never curled my hair before and i want to curl it for haloween(:
my hair is naturally very straight and im guessing probably wont curl very easily..
i have a very old curling iron that was my sisters... and well.. i dont really know how to use it...
so can anybody tell me what the best way to curl hair with a curling iron or mabye other ways too??Whats the best way to curl your hair?
Your should spray some hairspray on your hair first then curl it with a curling iron, the hairspray makes it stay curled long.Whats the best way to curl your hair?
OK, well with minimal time and minimal details about your hair type, this is my best advice.
Put your hair in sections and pony each one. Work one section at a time.
1. Turn on the iron and let it get hot. It doesn't matter if you hair is straight. What matters is if it is thick or thin. The thinner your hair, the lower the setting needs to be.
2. Apply a styling serum/cream/spray to your hair before putting the curling iron on it.
3. When you begin curling, comb out a half inch by 3 inch section of hair and clamp the hair mid-way through the strands. The curler should be at about a 45 degreee angle.
4. Pull the curling iron to your ends and then curl your hair up to the root.
5. Hold the curling iron in that position for 10-15 seconds. Let your hair fall. If you didn't get any curl, then do it again and hold it for longer. Figure out how long it takes your hair to curl.
You should be able to do that through your whole head. The only additional note is that when you get to the hair right next to your face, start paying attention to what direction you are curling your hair in. I'd advise that you curl away from your face to achieve the wind-swept look.
AND IF YOUR HAIR SMELLS LIKE IT IS BURNING, THEN STOP and reset the curler to a lower setting!!!
my hair is naturally wavy. not like super wavy tho. just a few waves. waht i do is when i get out of the shower, DONT BRUSH YOUR HAIR, you will never get it even close to wavy/curly if you brush your hair. then scrunch it really good with gel or mousse. then get like 6 ruber bands and twist your hair up into buns all over your head and spray it with a good amount of hair spray. leave it in for 30-45 minutes then take it out gently and dont brush it at all. just keep scrunching it everynow and then with hair spray till it is dryish. i do this and it really works (: heres a video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLHcVeyd5
The healthiest way to curl your hair is by using pins and plastic curlers, found at Walgreen or Rite-Aid. They come in large, medium or small sizes of 12.
They've sold them for ages, and I still have mine. It won't damage your hair, from heat and no chemicals.
You could use hot hair curlers. They work like a charm. Or after you shower, brush your hair, put a little gel in it, scrunch it, and then blowdry it upside down! :] I do it, and it makes my hair very wavy and curly, too.
Hope it works! :)
sponge rollers *walmart, target...*. wet you hair before you go to bed. roll your hair. unroll in the morning. you will have great curls.
you could use a straightner..type in curling hair with straightner at youtube

Hope it works! :)
sponge rollers *walmart, target...*. wet you hair before you go to bed. roll your hair. unroll in the morning. you will have great curls.
you could use a straightner..type in curling hair with straightner at youtube
How to curl your hair with a straightner?
First I straighten my hair, then I want to curl random little pieces, but I hate using my curling iron. I have thick hair. How to curl your hair with a straightner?
Okay it's really simple.
1.First you put your hair in sections and then put some styling gel on it.
2. After that grab a nice piece of your hair and put your hair in between your straightener and close it.
3. Twist your straightener ( just like turn it around ) just once around and pull down.
4. VOILA ! You have curly hair in just 2 seconds :)
Note: If you want more tighter curls then pull slower Donn, if you want looser curls pull faster down. Also use some gel that will protect your hair from the heat of straightener.
PLEASE ! Answer my question: http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/indHow to curl your hair with a straightner?
curl it the same way with your straightener as you would with your curing iron. but use hair spray because since it's straight, the curl will get weighed down.
i hope i made sense to you.

How Do you use Curling iron?
Can ne one show me a video on how to curl your hair with a curling iron or a hair straightner.. Or is there ne factsHow Do you use Curling iron?
Plug the curling iron in, turn it on and wait for it to heat up.
After it's hot, you use your fingers, a comb or a brush to seperate a lock of hair and put it between the ';tongs'; of the curler and pull it to the end of the hair and rotate the curly to curl your hair around the iron. Wait a few seconds and release then release your hair.
Don't leave it too long in your hair, otherwise it can melt and burn it. Sometimes you can put a little hair spray on your hair first before you curl it to help it stay curled longer. At least that's how I did it sometimes.
When your done, dont forget to turn it off and unplug it.How Do you use Curling iron?
dont use it everyday...it will break your hair!!!!
Search youtube. But basically, just wait for it to heat and then CURL CURL to your heart's content
Plug it in the wall, let it heat up, gather a little hair at a time and wrap the hair around the curling iron for a few seconds then unwind. Repeat this process until all hair is curled.
With a straightener, same thing only pull the straightener downward all the way to the end of your hair.

How to curl my pin straight hair?
I have very straight, long hair. When i curl it with a curling iron, hot roller or anything it falls flat within 10 mins. you would never be able to tell it had a curl in it. my hair is layered and it comes down to my bra strap.
How should i curl my hair and what product should i use on it. i don't want to burn the sh!t out of it.How to curl my pin straight hair?
Hi my hairs the exact same, i had to have it curled for a show recently and i didn't know how i'd do it o:
But what i did and it didnt drop was wash you hair the night before,
and when its damp put in mousse and scrunch. Then put in foam rollers , secure in and spray with hairspray. Sleep with them overnight and theyll be curly the next day. at first they'll be v.tight curls but they drop after about an hour. if its still not curly enough, put your already curled hair into a bun or plaits for the next few hours, then repeat what you did the night before but this time with heated curlers, using the mousse and hairspray. Run your fingers through or softly brush them into looser/fatter curls, and add a small amount of hairspray if still needed. Hope it helps :)How to curl my pin straight hair?

How to use a straightening iron on my hair without damaging it?
I have been straightening and curling my hair with the straightening iron and curling iron. This is all fine, except I've noticed that now my hair grows extremely slowly and I get split ends after only a few weeks. Is there anything I can do to keep my hair healthy and growing quickly again while continuing to straighten and curl my hair? How to use a straightening iron on my hair without damaging it?
sure theres a way(:
first i would get it trimmed a little
bit so you can start new,and just
to get the split ends, then i would
buy a heat protecting spray at
walmart,rite aid,walgreens,etc.
its in the hair care section, with shampoos.
and you just spray it in your hair, brush,
straighten or curl, and it will leave your
hair unharmed and soft.(:How to use a straightening iron on my hair without damaging it?
It's impossible to keep burning your hair without damaging it. You can try some heat protectant spray, I like TRESemme. You could get trims every few weeks, that also helps your hair grow faster. Try deep conditioners, at the salons they have great ones. And don't shower your hair everyday, leave your hair ironed for a few days to minimize hair damage.
Side note: If you iron your hair all the time and curl it, why don't you just get the keratin treatment. Your hair will look amazing without the heat damage.
Well i used to have realy damaged hair but they just came out with a new straightner called bio- ionic u can it for $90 at amazon but its a one pass straightner so as many times a u use it it will not damage your hair!i thought i was a ripp ff then i got it and will never use a nother straightner ever again so continue to use that staightner as ur hair gets healthier hope i hepled!
You could try some heat protection like the Kevin Murphy Heat Protection Line which will help when you use your straightening iron or flat iron.
no you cant use one and not damamge your hair. using a heat protectant and a leave in conditioner will help slow the split ends.. pantene has a good conditinor for split ends. (i use it)
You can't keep your hair healthy, and as long as you keep the split ends off your hair, Your hair will grow the same.
get trims, and use heat protecting products before using heat!
Use aquage next time you get your hair cut ask your hairdresser about it go to youtube.com and type in msvintagedoll1 and watch my video on aquage.

Curling my hair??! How long...?
Okay.. so I've tried using a curling iron to curl my hair but it just wont work. Unless I go to a salon the only way it stays is if I use the ';sleep-in'; curlers. Tomorrow I'm going to my boyfriends dance and I wanna curl my hair but I don't want to go to school with my hair curled. So with the sleep in curlers do you have to go that many hours before your hair curls or just until your hair drys?Curling my hair??! How long...?
Honey, I have the same problem. Our hair is really heavy. It doesn't respond well to heat styling.
What I have found that helps is to put about a dime sized amount of gel in my hair and some mousse, then blow dry it until it is barely wet. After that, you can wrap it up in curlers for an two or three hours. Make sure your hair is completely dry before you take the curlers out. As you pull them out, spray each strand with a strong hold hairspray.
Hope this helps!Curling my hair??! How long...?
i would say, first blow dry your hair to tell its COMPLETELY dry and then divide sections . you may want to put a style product in your wet hair when you blow dry. Once you section begin to part with in those sections and curl your hair make sure to spritz it with hairspray or some type of holding product after you curl. The curls should last all night.
just until your hair is dry. have fun at the dance!
heres what you should try.. try it today incase it doesnt work.
1.) take a shower and wash you hair well
2.) comb your hair out
3.) put the curlers in your hair
4.) use a blow dryer on high heat and blow dry the hair on the curlers
5.) add some hair spray and then carefully remove
6.) add some styling products to it
I dont't know how much time you have inbetween school and the dance but wash your hair the day before go to school when you get home wet towl dry give it a good coating of mouse or hair spray and put in the rollers. You can speed up the process by drying your hair with the curlers in with a hair dryer but the hair has to dry completly!!! Or you can wash your hair the day before go to school come home coat it with mouse or hair spray then use hot curlers if you have them. The key to getting your hair to hold curl is it has to be a little dirty meaning the oils need to build up a little and the hairspray and mouse helps.

URGENT! How do i get curly hair... culers or curling iron?
The school dance is tonight and i need my super thick unable curly hair to curl.. Do i take a shower then put in curlers? or just use a curling iron. .. Suplies i have :
3/4 inch surling iron
super tiny curling iron
Bed head masterpiece massive shine hair spray
Helenes Curtis Salon selectives fully pumped styling foam
Garnier fructis style with micro-waves curl shaping spray gel
about 14 individual foam/ spongy curlers!

okoay the truth about curling irons is that to make the hair stay in the curl you need to use hair spray and use intense heat. Mix the two and you have major hair damage. But at the same time if you want those crispy curls youll get at the salon the curling iron is the way to go.
On the other hand, if you want softer more natural curls (with less damage) shower with your regular shampoo and air dry your hair to where its still a little damp. Use a little bit of a lite gel or scrunching curling gel on your hair and use curlers before going to bed. Use the cool setting on a blow dryer and sleep normally, dont worry about messing up the curls (this will give them a more natural look. When you wake up use the warm setting on your blow dryer for about 2-3 mins. Then take out the curlser. Viola! Curly Hair!!
-Joey's Wife
curlers are hard to get in but a tiny curling iron would be quicker and easier, I find it very hard to get my strands of hair in curlers without some of the hair sticking out, it's easier when someone else does that for you. whyy do you need to take a shower to get your hair wet... just wash your hair!
At this point...your hair should be straight and dry. Take each strand of hair and put a little hair spray on the strand, and curl with your curling iron. Then put hairspray on the strand again to hold the curl. Repeat this step. Skip the rollers! If you have thick hair, this will take hoursssss...
i personally think you should take a shower as early as possible and put the curlers in, and let them set till they are dry. if you can't wait that long dry them like halfway then let them finish airdrying. take them out then spray with your hair spray. after a few moments, loosen up your curls and your good to go. and your still in school? sheesh..
My hair is thick and hard to curl!
Curlers work fine, but can be kind of hard to use sometimes!
Try the curler! Spray the strand with hairspray before you curl it, this should hold the curl.
Or you could always scrunch it! :]
ok so if you want really curly hair,i would recommend the curling iron and if you want wavy or not really curly hair then you should use the curlers.
Either would work well.
Sometimes it helps if you have mousse or something in your hair to hold the curls in.

How do I curl my very long hair?
My hair is really long...almost to my butt. Its a little bit wavy naturally, but not too much. I've tried using hot rollers and foam curlers and my hair just doesn't try in time and I have to use so many. My hair turns out best when using a curling iron, but I have no time to do that in the morning. Is there any way that I can curl my hair with an iron at night and have it stay in the next day?How do I curl my very long hair?
When my hair was that long i used to braid it in 2 inch sections after a shower at night, spray some non sticky hair sprey on it and sleep with it in. Its more of a wave effect really. I suppose you could put curlers in your hair overnight. For hair that long you are going to have to make sure it is as lightweight as possible. How do I curl my very long hair?
i use my straightener to curl my hair.. it works great.
use hair spray.. lots of it!
use a 3-barrel curler! you can get it at your local drugstore
Get a hair cut. You'll thank me later.
Get a waver... they're quicker and easy to use.
This one works great and is pretty affordable: http://www.beautychoice.com/products/Hot
And this makes more defined curls.. I prefer the gold one, personally. http://www.beautychoice.com/products/Hot
Hope this helped.
Use perming rods and put strong hold gel or spray net let it stay for an hour or two. It works fine. My hair's always straight and no curling irons can make my hair curly so I have to put on strong hold gel to curl it. It works fine with me.

Does anybody know how to curl hair with a blow dryer and a round brush?
My hair won't curl with rollers, I don't have a curling iron, but I DO have a blow dryer and a round, cylindrical brush. How do I curl it?Does anybody know how to curl hair with a blow dryer and a round brush?
considering you dont have a curling iron...
when you style your hair with a round brush, always remember, never try to blow dry and style it when its really wet! towel dry your hair... until its a little damp. First put some sort of styling product, like moose all over, not too much though.Clip up your hair half up... the bottom half then you clip that in half.. till you have about an inch section to blow dry... you should blow dry with the brush curling under, or out whichever style is desired... keep doing each section until you are finished... drying from root to bottom in curling motion... (in each section you may have to keep runing the brush through your hair a few times to for it to dry and keep the curl.) you should use a light hairspry to keep the style...
if you decide you want curly hair... you did mention you had rollers.. you may have the wrong sized rollers for the length of your hair... that could be the problem, another problem may be that your not using any product.
if rolling while your hair is wet, try a moose before you put the rollers in... then once the rollers are all in, spray with hairspray.. wait till dry... take them out and run your hands through them..
if hot rollers, use Hot Sets by Redken as a styling product.

http://z.about.com/d/beauty/1/5/E/H/curls7.JPGHow do i curl my hair?
I know a solution to cut down the frizzy hair :)
I use this one product called control freak and it's this serum that makes your hair
smooth and cuts down frizz. It's amazing. You can buy it at any drug store like walgreens or Ulta :)
Note: With this product make sure you use a little in your hand. rub it in with your palms and brush streek with your fingers where the frizz is :)How do i curl my hair?
Simply allow your hair to air dry, then add your favorite anti-frizz gel, serum or cream to define the waves or curls. If you want more curl, use a round-barrel brush and blow dry smooth curls, or use a large-barreled curling iron for more bounce. For more tousled, wavy hair, come some of the curls out before adding serum or gel.

How do you curl your hair so it looks very natural, big full wavy curls?
My hair isn't normally curly and use a curling iron when I want to curl it. But the curls aren't pretty there just these big hard ugly short curls, is there any good ways or products to do it with? Thanks! How do you curl your hair so it looks very natural, big full wavy curls?
Try wrapping your hair around the curling iron as opposed to clamping down on your ends. Like this-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu1FrnHti
You can also get a few curly clip in synthetic extensions to boost your look. How do you curl your hair so it looks very natural, big full wavy curls?
maybe try big velcro rollers. look up some tutorials on youtube that show you how to use them.
You would need to use a curler with a large barrel. Vary where the curls start and end etc. Also brush through it lightly after you curl your hair but not rough enough to cause the curls to fall out. Don't use too much hairspray and make sure all of your hair is done (:
comb your hair properly nd then wash your hair and put lots of gel and curl ur hair
You have two options:
Either by one of the biggest curling iron you can find, apply very thoroughly and brush out one curl at a time. make sure you curl it in big chunks and seperate the curl after your done.
your second option which is my favorite, is to by hot rollers. as for after yu take them out the same process goes.
Yeah I'd say velcro rollers. Roll them up your hair vertically though, because if you roll them horizontally your hair will probably just go all poofy. If you get what I mean?

Ok well about 3 inches below your ear, start curling the straightner upward and that should work. Also try Garnier Curl Shaping Mousse and only apply it to the ends. It automatically curls the ends any way you like! Good luck! I'm sure it will look great! Also you can try blow drying just the ENDS upward (even after you straighten it). It will look great! How do I curl my hair upward?
Youtube tutorial.
get the amount desired and start from your root and as your sliding it turn your flat iron towards you.
you just regularly straighten it and when you want it to be curled flip the curling iron up and hold it as if it is normally but just instead ogf having your wrist be facing out...it would be facing up. sorry if you cant understand it. its hard 2 explain
take your curling iron
make sure the iron clip thing is facing up
and curl up towards your face
It won't work with a flat iron, you are better off getting a cheap curling iron.
is it a girl or boy...because I have diferent answers for each
well, you need a skinny flat iron like an inch.
and you start at the top of your head like an inch away from the scalp and you twist it around like a curling iron, and once its all around the barrel pull it away from your head and it should work.
sorry if this isnt clear enough :)

How can I curl my hair in spirals?
I want my hair in spirals kind of like how miley cyrus or Jenette McCurdy wears theirs. I have tried to curl my hair with a regular curling iron but it does not work. It does not even curl my hair. Can my hair be too straight to curl? Are their any other ways to curl it?How can I curl my hair in spirals?
Ok you can go to a drugstore or some beuty store and there you will find these cylinder rolls and they are spiky around the cylendir. To use it you get a strand of your hair and put one end on the roll and roll the strand up to your scalp and it will stick to your hair and stay there. Leave it on for how ever long you want , then take it out and you'll see curls. Hope this helps. How can I curl my hair in spirals?
You can try using those magnetic curlers, they may work better than a curling iron.

How should I get my hair to curl???
I have absolutly stick-straight hair. Occasionaly if it is SUPER humid I will get a slight wave to my bangs but I really want to be able to curl my hair. It won't even hold a curl with a heavy duty curling iron. Are there any products/ hair accutremants that would help me out?How should I get my hair to curl???
use hair spray while u curlHow should I get my hair to curl???
Have you tried blow drying it first, then using the curling iron? It worked for a co-worker of mine who has stick straight hair. She also used a curling serum while her hair was wet prior to blow drying.
You can get your hair permed, which definitely helps to hold a curl but if you want to style it you will still have to use curlers. I have had my hair permed twice which helped my hair alot, as i style my hair in a 1940's style.
There are also curl products that you can get at priceline and price attack and other hair places that help to hold a curl.
Also hot rollers or a curling iron with lots of hair spray has worked on friends of mine with very straight hair.
Good luck!
Swartzkopft has a line of curling products that you can purchase at Wal-Mart. Also, there is a line by Redken that is good for curling hair. I wouldn't recommend a perm because that's permanent, but with the help of good styling products and a diffuser to put on the end of your blowdryer..you should get the desired result.
Use a hair mousse while your hair is wet. After drying use curling iron.
this s how i make my curls in the moring before i go to work
1.when your hair is wet put pantine pro-v hair curling serum
2.then put tresemme brand curling mouse
3.srunch your hair while its still wet
4. let it dry and enjoy = ]

How do i curl hair with the ginalli milano curler?
i bought the curler and when the sellers tried it on me it worked perfectly but when i tried to curl my hair boy it was terrrible! i have the 25 MM CILINDRICO CYLINDER CURLING IRON! help!! i really wanna curl my hair and cant return it because it was not from a regular store! and it was too expensive so i cant get another curler! How do i curl hair with the ginalli milano curler?
ok- you answered my question, so i'm answering urs.
so, here are 2 options for what you should do.
HEALTHY OPTION- braid your hair into about 10 really, really tight sections. Sleep (for at least 8 hours.) Before going to sleep, apply curling gel (optional.) This works really well for me on a sunday night lol :) when you get up, before you undo the braids, add curling gel (if you didn't overnight, and still you can add more.) sit for some minutes and take out the braids. fluff them out for more volume, and voila! =D
I've heard that wrapping hair around pipecleaners or using cloth-curlers work too. PS. This gives your hair a crimped/curl look. depends on your hair texture.
UNHEALTHY, OR LESS HEALTHY OPTION:
Use very hot hair curler. Trust me, I suck with heat appliances too :). All you need is more practice!! It worked for me. To curl your hair, watch this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOGKEq4Gv
One reason that the culer isnt working for u could be that you have thick hair and didnt put enough heat on it!! turn up the setting and try that. when you are done curling, add curling gel if you want the look to last up to 12 hours.
I bet you didn't know that you can curl your hair with a FLAT IRON!? it works wonders!! watch this:

How do I curl my hair?
I have layered, short hair but I really want to curl my hair. I have a curling iron but everytime i try to curl it, it comes out horrible. The only thing I can do it straighten it. I tried braiding it but it comes out waaay to curly and uneven. It's ugly. Are there any special techniques for someone with my kind of hair to curl my hair?
Someone pleaseeee help me!How do I curl my hair?
Try going to a salon and ask the hair stylist to show you some techniques. I have long hair so I'm not exactly experienced in needing to curl short hair! How do I curl my hair?
u can wet it and put Garnier Fructis Style Curl Shaping
i use it all the time and it curl my hair
You need to take your time and curl every single layer but just warning you if you take as much time as a person with really long hair on a single layer you will look like you have a Afro.
perm.
Sure. Don't just curl your hair in random places first of all. section you hair off and start in the back (nape) area. make sure each pieces of hair is even so your curls will be even. then before you curl each piece spray it with hair spray then curl that piece and it will come out better and last longer. If you hear a sizzle don't worry your hair isn't burning its just the hair spray on the curling iron. also it could be the curling iron you are using. I suggest a ceramic curling iron like the flat irons because they get the hottest and give a smoother look. Good luck. Please add me to your contacts and email me w/ any hair questions you have via yahoo answers.
small barrel ceramic hot rollers
use a curling iron
Use hot rollers, they seriously saved my life! Well not really but it takes way less time then trying to use a curling iron.

How to make curling irons actually work? on thick hair....?
if its possible at all- i've tried to curl my hair with a regular curling iron, mind you i'm not quite sure how exactly to use it but when i did it didnt work. Tell me how to use it properly on thick hair?
thanks! How to make curling irons actually work? on thick hair....?
I have thick hair and I bought a curling iron from Wal Mart with 25 heat settings and a turbo heater. I can't think of the brand but it actually works on my hair. I know what you mean. with regular irons my hair was limp by the time i got to the other side. Moose also helps apply first (not too much or it will singe) if u have time wait for it to dry and then curl it. spritz some lightweight hairspray so it doesn't go crispy on you and the curls should stick for a while. How to make curling irons actually work? on thick hair....?

How do I get the top of my hair to curl?
I have very straight, just-below-the-shoulder length hair. Each time I try to curl it (either with curlers or a curling iron), only the bottom will get a slight wave. I have tried wrapping my hair around the curling iron beginning at the top, but it just doesn't work out. The only time it works is whenever I spend an hour at the salon.
Any suggestions? How do I get the top of my hair to curl?
I have the same problem most of the time...use a styling product or lotion. Use smaller sections when you curl, and i have switched to a tourmaline ceramic curling iron what gets super hot and I don't have to leave my hair on it long. Works really well. I also mist aerosol hairspray lightly on each section I am about to curl. Also, it's importatnt not to touch the curl after you unwrap it from the iron until it is completely cool. Long hair needs to ';set'; before you start styling or the curl will fall out. It could also be that you need a trim, hair gets heavy and may not hold curl as well. Good luck! How do I get the top of my hair to curl?
maybe try using a volumizing spray before you curl it
You don't say if your hair is all one length or not. If you have thick hair or not.The weight of your could be pulling out your curls. You may need to get your hair cut in some layers. Not real short layers, medium layers at least, this will help take some weight off and hold the curls better.
you can buy a g2b glue gel in a pharmacy store its really good its for anybodys hair ,you can just put the gel on top of your hair and scrunch it.
what do they use in the salon to keep it curled? maybe try that.
You should try using (hot) curlers at the roots, as a lift.

How Can I Get My Hair to Curl?
My hair is naturally wavy, but the waves are very frizzey and my hair gets poofy when I air dry it so I straighten it with a straightner. But sometimes I want to wear my hair curly so I've tried blow drying it then curling it with a curling iron. But it doesn't curl. It just goes back to straight. How can I curl my hair with it staying?!How Can I Get My Hair to Curl?
Do you want to curl or do you want to scrunch? I personally think scrunching looks great. I have naturally straight hair with a few waves here and there and it works for me. Here's what you need:
hairspray (preferably a strong hold)
gel
mousee
hairties
blowdryer with diffuser
Be careful not to use too much of the products! While in the shower, make sure your hair is conditioned very well. Use a wide tooth comb to comb it. When you get out of the shower. Towel dry your hair so its damp. Apply gel with a scrunch motion. Gather up your hair and ';squish'; it in your hands up and down. Then apply some mousse and do the same motion. Take the hairties and section your hair into three sections, scrunch the hair up into a little knot. Repeat so you have three sections. Hairspray it in place. Chill out for a little bit, watch some tv, put lotion on, etc. After about 15 or so minutes. Let your hair down and keep scrunching. Blowdry it with the diffuser scrunching section by section. Hairspray, but not too much. When you are done you should have a big scrunchy mane. Put it up lightly in a bun and sleep on it. In the morning, it should be super scrunchy. Put a tiny bit of lotion in it for gloss. Spray and go! Hope I helped :)How Can I Get My Hair to Curl?
try sleeping over night with foam rollers in your hair they usually come out really good...after you take a shower blow your hair out.(not completely) but straight and then put the hair rollers in and spray it with hair spray. Leave them in for a while and it should curl!
Curl perm or when you dry it then curl it first put in ( Frizz-Ease)
After taking a shower put mousse or a styling foam throughout your wet hair. Twist each strand in a spiral shape and bobby pin to your head. Use a diffuser over your hair until it is 3/4 of the way dry. Take out the bobby pins and break up the curls a bit. Hairspray and your done.
Hope that helps.

Get a thin flat iron, about 1 in. usually works well. Start up by the roots and clasp the flat iron down on a parting of hair. Twist the flat iron in circles while letting the hair pull through it, when all the hair is pulled through you will have a curl.
put your flatiron on your hair like 3 inches from the top and position it as you would if you were straightening it
then make a 360 turn with the flatiron and slowly slide it down. it takes some practice. try it on different locks of hair to see the difference in the way you do it.

Get a thin flat iron, about 1 in. usually works well. Start up by the roots and clasp the flat iron down on a parting of hair. Twist the flat iron in circles while letting the hair pull through it, when all the hair is pulled through you will have a curl.

You need a good hairspray from the salon , no cheap stuff and a ceramic curling iron that heats up very hot. You spray the hair, curl it then spray it again. I have long hair and my curl stays in all day when I do this. How do I curl my hair?

Hi, when i flat iron my thick/ frizzy hair it takes 45 mins. and i usually burn myself!!! how can i not burn myself? i try to hold the hair away from my face but i mess-up. i have been straightening my hair for over 7 years and ahh!! Also how can i curl my hair? sometimes my hair wont hold a curl. help!! Also, i really need a new curling iron and a new flat iron, but i seen on tv there's this new one with little heat, and it can do both things to your hair, and you can leave your hair wet. do you know what that is called? i was watching it on paid programing.
please help! any info will do! also i tried goggling these things, but only weird youtube videos came up.. ahh!!
i have the 2 inch red flat chi iron. and some old black iron. i use hair spray.
thanksPlease help on how to flat iron and curl my hair !!!?
Okay, all I can really help you with is the curling question. This is how I curl my hair-and it holds all day.
Begin by applying a styling gel, mousse or styling spray. Your curls will form better if you use good quality products.
Clip your hair back in multiple sections. Release one section and brush or comb it to remove any knots or tangles. Spray lightly with a soft-hold hairspray if your hair is very fine and doesn't hold curls well.
Begin with the undersection of your hair, working your way up to the top. Twist a small section of your hair with your hands for spiral curls, or take a flat, larger section for loose curls.
Curl desired hair
Roll the iron up and hold it for about 10 seconds.
Open the curling iron and release the curls. Proceed with other sections until all areas have been curled.
Flip your head and shake out the curls, then style your hair with your fingers.
Spray with a light hold hair spray to keep your curls in place.
Good luck and I hope I was of some help! Please help on how to flat iron and curl my hair !!!?
Keep practicing.
Well with the straightening part... do you use a clip to put the top layer of the hair up, while you do the under layer? If not this will help tons. Also straighting your hair for 7 years can do some damage, hopefully your using some pre-straightner product (can't think what its called :P but i use it, and love it) Maybe your straightner is old. I love my straightner I got at a salon, cost me $120 but is nearly imposible to burn your self, and its better for your hair. As for curling, with an iron, when your hair is wraped around the iron use a light hairspray, dove works great, and spray a few sprays, once all finished use a heavier hair spray, there are tons of products out there for different things, i would go to a salon and ask a proffesional, they will be able to help you tons!

How do i straighten my hair with a Curling iron?
i read some where you can straingten your hair with a curlying iron is this true. im experimenting with my hair but my mom only has a curlying iron and i want mine to be straightened but i dont want to buy a straightener. if its true how do i do it?How do i straighten my hair with a Curling iron?
You can do it, but it'll be puffier than if you used a real straightener and it'll pull your hair out. You just hold the curling iron at the roots of your hair, then slide it down your hair slowly like you would with a straightener...
You can also curl your hair with a straightener... so maybe it'd just be better to invest in a straightener.

You run the curling iron to the halfway point of your hair and then hand wrap the ends around the curling iron and you won't get the bend.
The curls will hold and last longer if you spray with hair spray first. How to get big loose curls with a 2 inch curling iron!! and pretty ends?
Curls all your hair and then either run your fingers through your hair or kinda pull the curls, that does the trick for me, hopefully it will help!!

How to make naturally curly hair wavy without a curling iron or straightener?
how do u make naturally curly hair wavy without a curling iron or straightener.
i tried braiding it wet then sleeping then wearing it down but it does not work....
any suggestions....im open to anything that has NOTHING to do with curling irons or straighteners
thanks in advance..How to make naturally curly hair wavy without a curling iron or straightener?
for big loose waves - wash it ( or dampen it) and then spray it with hair spray or whichever product you wish to use, then tie it in a loose messy bun. The tighter the bun, the smaller the curls. But remember, if you want it to STAY like that for the rest of that day you need to use something like hairspray to hold it into place.
for smaller, tighter curls, you could just twist your hair into little buns all over your head when its damp . although it REALLY uncomfortable to sleep with though :(
failing that you could always buy curlers? my mom wouldnt let me when i was like 13 or something so that what i used to do ;) but i have curlers now it makes life sooo much more easier! i curl before bed to get the desired look
I've also read about this thin where when your hairs still wet you get about 3inch wide sections and roll around strips of material and when you roll it all the way to your scalp, you tie the material in a knot....read that in a charles worthington book but never tried it cos its too hard :(How to make naturally curly hair wavy without a curling iron or straightener?
well this is what i have my mom do to my hair that doesnt fry ur hair ok. just go ahead and take a thin towel like those princess ones, and use a cloths iron to strighten it and for ur hair it would make it wavey.
you can buy a curl enhancer, or just like a gel/muse, then you apply it to wet hair and scrunch it then you can either just dry with a diffuser, or you can take random sections and curl around your finger all through your hair and still scruch while drying with a diffuser, Hope I helped!
Bec
to make ur hair naturally wavy, makes sections in ur hair and braid them then leave it for a couple hours and take them out
its even better if u go to bed in it
but dont do it while its wet tht usually wont work cuz ur hair wont fully dry and it will just be a mess when you wake up
another thing u can do
is after uv showered get moose and put it in ur hair then take parts of ur hair and wrap it around ur fingers and spiral it
it can usually help make sum loose curls
try mousse and scrunch your hair up when its wet to become dry then turn wavey or try herbal essences totally twisted shampoo and conditioner it might help make your hair naturally curly.=] hope this helps
hmm, looks like we have a situation. When it is wet, I would try to spritz on some de-tangler and comb through it then add some mousse to crimp and tease with your hands. Use a diffuser as your scrunch it up then before it completely dries, try to add some finger curls.
good luck
Put mouse on the mid section to the end on your hair, rub it in and just tie it into a bun, spray a little bit of hairspray and sleep, then you'll probably get wavy cute hair.
I hope this helps(:
use hot rollers that should work pretty well
