Assuming your friend is a true friend, perhaps you could ask your friend yourself and she'll help you with the curling dilemma! How to curl hair without a curling iron?
Take a flat iron and a piece of hair (1';) and put the flat iron the the root of chunk of hair and twist till the chunk of hair falls horizontal. then pull down and release. Look it up on youtube. Just type in 'how to curl hair with a straightener' and you'll learn how. Then spray hair. Curls can stay 3-4 days. TIP: do not put any product in your hair before curling.
Some straightners curl. But i think your talking about thing known as ';scrunching'; this is what i do when i scrunch my hair: after i get outta the shower i use curling/scrunching gell and scrunch my hair then i hairspray it and let it dry. here is a video tutorial if u didntt quit understand what i meant.

you can curl it with a flat iron (what i do) or when it is wet/damp scrunch it with gel, the gel i recommend is aussie, what my friend uses. it works very well on her hair.

How can i curl my hair with a curling iron with out the curls getting loose?

okay i have thick hair. and i have 3 kinds of curling irons. one small, the next is like middle sized, and the last is big. my question is how can i curl my hair with our the curls coming loose and which one should i use. i want my hair to look like miley cyrus' when its curly....How can i curl my hair with a curling iron with out the curls getting loose?
Ok, to answer which iron to use, just keep in mind the smaller the iron the tighter the curls. So if you're aiming for bigger, looser, curls use the big one and if you're looking for smaller, tighter curls use the small one.

In order to get the curls to stay, after curling use hair spray to keep them locked into place, or you can use a gel. If you use the gel just scrunch the curl with the gel in your hand.

Either of those should work, try both to see which works best for your hair :)How can i curl my hair with a curling iron with out the curls getting loose?
use the medium one and spray hairspray on your hair when you are holding it in the curling iron. However, you might want to try curling it with a flat iron because you can ge the same kinds of curls and i hear they are tighter and hold longer than when you use a curling iron.
the tiny curling irons make the curls tight

the bigger ones are for loose curls
curl your hair with whichever gives u the best curls and use hairspray

The best way is with no heat at all! You'll have no more damages in your hair, here is the link to the tutorial.

good luck!
i normally put the holding spray on my hair before i curl it cause if i put the spray on after it uncurls
Go in small strips, and then after, spritz a little hair spray/ holding spray on your curls. Don't go for the maximum holding spray if you don't want your hair frozen and not bouncy at all.

How do you curl straight hair with a curling iron?

i have a curling iron but i don't know how to use it. i need my hair to be curled for grad. plz help! How do you curl straight hair with a curling iron?
I could go through a lengthy explanation, but instead:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nqEfr5GX

I thought this was a nice grad look and easy to do. A few tips:

1)Work with the rest of your hair before adding the ends into the curler to do less damage. Or, you can just not curl the ends at all for a more natural, less ';done'; look.

2)If you have fine, very soft or virgin hair you can ';rough up'; your hair a little bit with some spray wax or surf spray to hold the style better. Spray it on each section rather than all at once

3)alternate the direction of each curl or you will end up forming one big ';sausage'; curl

4) preheat the hair by running the curling iron through it twice before actually curling it

5) the best way to ruin your curls is by using too much/too strong hairspray! Use a light hold and spray by picking up sections and spraying the scalp rather than the whole head. And don't use ANY hairspray until you are satisfied with the end results

You should try curling rolls instead because the results with curling iron may be just half-curled hair.

For curling rolls, you roll your hair(your mom probably knows) and leave it out for 3-6 hours and get an amazing and firmly done hair.

If not, the curling iron should be used with the iron left to be hot for 5 minutes and then take some hair(but not too much) and roll it upwards. If you'd like, you can take hair vitaliser gels or spray and then curl it with a curling iron, just to protect your hair.
ok so i have straight hair too. just make sure your hair is brushed out and dry. then you separate the hair into many strands that aren't too thick, but aren't too thin. and then you turn the iron on. it should take like 5 minutes for it to be really hot.

make sure not to touch the metal. it'll hurt. lol

then open the curling iron and put the hair (strand) into it (the bottom of your hair) then close it and wrap the rest of the hair around it until you reach the roots of the hair. hold it there for like 5 minutes (depending on how long your hair is). youll know when it is done when your head feels really hot (the hair). unwrap the hair and open the iron. let the hair fly loose :)

you may wanna brush it, but that may take the curls away so be careful with that.
read the info sheet
Look up ';hair curling'; on youtube. Its the first video.
while ur hair is on the curling iron spray it with hairspray so the curls will stay

This is a video I found for you. It's only 2 minutes long. It gives you all the steps on how to curl your hair. Just click the link below and it'll come up to the video. Hope this helps!

http://www.ehow.com/video_2831_curl-hair-with.html
its very simple but if ur hair is very thin or damaged first put in a heating serum

1.Part your hair into 4 different sections (top-left,top-right,bottom left, bottome right) Start with one of the bottom sections but dont forget to pin the other sections to your head.

2. take a thin piece of hair from that pile and put it into the curler(btw the curler should be heated for atleast 15 mins before starting) run the curler to the end of hair and roll up.

- wait for about 10 seconds ( counting aloud helps) then place you curler vertically with the handle on the bottom and slowly release the hair

3. After doing your whole head take a wide-toothed comb(but a pic is better) to loosen them if you want and then spray with hairspray

4. I forgot to mention if you want tight curls use a thinner curler, if you want bigger looser curls use a thicker curler
watch this, it works; i tried it yesterday.

haha :)

Whats a way to curl my hair without using a curling iron?

i want to wake up with curly hair tomorrow but don't have time for an iron. my hairs wet. but gel %26amp; spray doesn't work cause my hairs too thick. %26amp; wrapping it in a bun don't work either..

please give me ideas on how to curl my wet hair without using a curling iron...

thankss! %26lt;3Whats a way to curl my hair without using a curling iron?
use bobby pins

Twist strands of your hair (the thicker the strand, the looser the curl) until you can even see the twisting at the roots

Wrap the strand around (on your scalp) into a little circle, then pin it down with 2 bobby pins, criss-crossing each other.(Note: You do not have to wrap it into little buns. Just find a way to pin it to your head while keeping it twisted)

Repeat for all your hair. You'll end up with many tiny little twists.

Sleep on it. It may help to wear a bandanna so that the buns don't come undone. In the morning, undo all of them and finger tousle very well. (Note: You don't have to sleep on it if you are pressed for time. If your hair is only damp when you start this process, just let them dry by air or blow dry them on a cool setting. It may take a while, but if you don't have overnight it works fine.)Whats a way to curl my hair without using a curling iron?
Soak it in acid
What I usually do is put some gel in my hair then put it into two French braids and keep them in over night.

When I take out the french braids the next morning my hair has lovely curls and a lot of body.
u could scrunch it or get a perm...
oh I have thick hair too and its long. What i do is dry my hair completely dry .Bone dry! Then i put curlers in like the kind grandparents use. Then i wake up and take the curlers out and its curly. also hairspray, hairspray is your BFF.
yeah use grandma rollers. if you want to invest in a hair dryer used at salon and set your hair while wet.

How can a curl my hair without a curling iron?

I'm a guy with medium length wavy hair , and i just want to encourage those curls, do you know anyways to do that without a curling iron? How can a curl my hair without a curling iron?
You can always use a flat iron to curl your hair as well. If you don't have that or don't want to use it, you can also just get a curl boosting shampoo or lotions to put into your hair. How can a curl my hair without a curling iron?
Ok, so what you do is you take a shower and then you take mouse and you scrunch your hair. If you don't know how, go on youtube and type in how to use mousse. I've been doing it for 2 months, and it looks great.
Since you have wavy hair, you can get decent results from using products for curly hair.

';Curl'; products will encourage the wave in your hair to curl up.

You can just scrunch them into wet hair and let your hair air dry.

Putting a diffuser on your blowdryer would work even better and give you more curl. It only takes a few minutes!

Catwalk curl products have great results and it would be worth the investment since you can use less product, get better results and save time struggling to get your hair to do what you want it to do.

Get a shampoo, conditioner and styling product for curls.

If you want really tight curls, you can get foam rollers made by Conair, sold at Walmart.

http://www.amazon.com/Conair-Mesh-Covere

After you wash your hair, put in a curling styling product, then put the rollers in your wet hair. Sleep with them in, and remove them in the morning. It's a time consuming process, but the results will last until your next shampoo.

The best way because my hair is getting fried with a curling iron. How to curl my hair without a curling iron or rollers?
You can use spray that keeps your hair still and curl with your fingers.

    Here's how:

    You need:

    Hair Spray

    Your fingers

    Instructions:

    1. Spray ALL of your hair ( try not to leave any hair unsprayed)

    2. Curl your hair with your fingers. This may work. Might not work for very thick hair but you can try.

    3. Add clips and other things! This will make you look fab!

    4. If this doesn't work, try using a lot of spray. If using a lot of spray doesn't work either than try using small curlers. I don't like using them but it WILL work. Also, you can buy some thick clips and curl them up iin your hair. If you do that then buy some more clips and let them hold your curls up.

    5. Take the clips out after about 3 to five hours.

    6. Look beautifulHow to curl my hair without a curling iron or rollers?
    use ur fingers
    I am a man.
Why not use rollers then? Try wrapping your fair around your finger or some clothes pins and using hair spray.
braid when its wet and then leavve it in overnight
you can curl your hair around your finger and spray hairspray on it.
use a balm or some kind of product that protects your hair when you use heating items

make sure you cut off any split ends first

i like straight hair so i use redken ultra straight balm and i can tell an obvious difference

    good luck!
for the night make a braid and leave it when you go to sleep. then that next morning you have beautiful wavy curly hair!
if its long then plait it really tight when its wet, leave it to dry and it will be really wavy but not curly.
Try pin curls...I'm not sure on how to explain it, so i'll look for a link telling you how to do them...
plat your hair and leave it in for a day or 2 then unplat it -the curls will look really nice and natural (it works for me!)
Ig you have naturally curly hair, your lucky.

I have naturally curly hair, so the only thing I do to make my hair look like it was styled by a curling iron is:

    - Shampoo

    -Condition

    - Dry it for a bit

    - Put some frizz free oil, and put it all over my hair

    - comb

    - put a handful of mousse, and cover it all over my head

If you have a straightener, that works too.

    Hope I helped!

take ur sticks of hairs and roll it on ur finger and wait for sometime and it will get curl
    Instructions For Using Hot Rollers

Creating spiral curls using hot rollers involves the following basic steps:

Section hair into small triangular sections that range in size from 1 to 2 inches. Keep in mind that the smaller the section, the tighter the curls.

Roll the curlers starting at the nape of the neck and work upwards towards the crown of the head.

Note: If your ends are damaged either apply a pomade or other protective styling product to protect the ends. If you prefer you can also experiment with using end papers. If you use end papers, make sure not to overlap the tresses.

Secure the hot roller against your scalp as tightly as possible.

Once the entire head has been curled, let rollers completely cool.

Remove rollers one at a time. After the hair is removed from the roller, use your fingers to form a spiral curl, spray with hairspray and then pin the reformed spiral curl against your scalp.

When you have finished removing all your curlers and have finished pinning them to your head, let them set for at least one hour.

Right before leaving the house remove the pins and use only fingers to carefully arrange curls in the desired pattern.

Spray entire head with light hairspray to allow curls to bounce and move.

Note: You may choose not to roll your entire head in spiral curlers. You may want to curl the bangs and the very top of the hair separately with a curling iron to avoid an ';overly curled'; look..

Do not use a brush or comb on the spiral curls. To get extra lift you can use a curling iron to carefully lift the base of the top curls.
take your finger nd twist your hair tightly on your finger.it works for me.keep it on your finger for a while.
if you want like ringlet curls

then scrunch some moose into your hair when its wet

    and use bobby pins!

like twist your hair into small coils and then bobby pin into place

spray with a tiny bit of hairspray and do the rest of your hair

then you can just let it air dry or do it at night so your hairs dry by the morning!

take out the pins and like mess it up a bit with your fingers

works on my hair anyways (:
    heyy

    i would try schrunching or if that doesnt work this is what i do;

    1) i take a shower and let my hair dry a little(until its damp)

2)i put it in a low bun and sleep with it in

    3) next i wake up in the moring and take the bun out and then i take my straightner and curl the peices that are straight

    hope this helps!

seeing that you just ommited many modern marvels, I could only suggest some old time remedies. Paper bags, cut into strips. LOL. I was at a friends house yesterday and she had an issue of cosmo girls that had a list of ways to curl your hair without gadgets.
I have a hair fetish, I will curl your hair..
Brown paper bag, rolled and twist both ends to lock.(cut /tear bag to make the paper-rollers).works wonders.
what you have to curl your hair with those things without it you can't curl your hair sorry.
    With rags:

First of all take a good long breath. Finding the right way to curl your hair isn't easy. To get big round curls, you don't have much choice but the curling iron or curlers. How ever if you just want really pretty curly hair with curls that aren't really big or perfect spirals. I can help you. :)

1.Take a bath or shower , wash your hair

    2. Rub hair with a towel, not vigorously, but just enough to get it so that it is not dripping wet.

3.Put in whatever gels or de frizzers you might use. If you dont use anything you are going to need to use a gel or a creme that helps to enhance curls.they usually works well with this.

    4. Twist your hair into a very tight bun on top of your head. You may want to do more than one bun if you have thich hair or if you just have a lot of hair.

    5. Let the bun(s) dry COMPLETELY (it could take up to like 6-7 hours)

    6. Put hairsray in your hair so that the curls will hold for a long time.

Tips: Sleeping in the buns arn't comforatable but if you put them at the top of your head, They wont be bad.

    Happy Curling! Hope I helped!
