My hair won't stay curled when I curl is with a curling iron no matter how much hairspray I put on it! My hair is a little wavy if I just let it airdry after I get out of the shower but its mostly straight. How can I get it to curl or wave?! Any good products out there? How can I get my hair to curl or be wavy?
herbal essenses srunching gel.!!!!!!!!!!
it's amazing
and it's in a purple.. tube thingy.
i use it alot and it works and i love it.How can I get my hair to curl or be wavy?
herbal essesnces scrunch gel...in the purple thingy =]
lmao i use it it works!! =]
To curl it you could use roll-on curlers. Those work well. Also...you could put hairspray in your hair before, during, and after curling it with a curling iron. I've found that if I do that my curls stay in better and longer. Also, if that doesn't work then you could use mousse, or mega hold hairspray.
To just get a wave, put your hair in a braid overnight. I do this almost every night. The more wavy you want it..the more braids you put in. Also...french braids work really well!
go to the hair dresser and tell her to wash your hair then put rollers in it and then when its done drying in the dryer, let her take them out and then let her blow dry it and she can do this special thing where she rolls up your hair piece by piece and pins it. Then when you take out the pins your hair is beautiful and wavy and it stays in. It worked for me!
buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.
then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......
and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.
and as for just regular hairstyles, i would try sidebangs or whispy bangs instead of thick ones......dont know about the cut i might have to see the shape of your face, sry....
you can also do buns, because they are pretty in, or low pigtails, but you might be a little old for them, but my sister in college looks cute in them so i dont know.....
as for hairbands, very cute and in!!! definitely!!!
u could wear your hair half-up, leaving your bangs down.....
hope i helped!!! good luck!!!
it sounds like you're describing my hair! i know how frustrating it is. in addition to the herbal essences prev. mentioned, ask your stylist, mine gave me bed head stuff... it works pretty good

How do i Curl my hair?
Tomoro is the school formal dance and i wanna curl my hair, I know how 2 wit Gel because i do tht all the time but it looks better wit curling iron. How do i curl it with a curling iron? I want it to be spirals but rly pretty. I have long layered hair and bangs that go a little past my chin so How shld i curl my hair with a Curling iron? How do i Curl my hair?
Before you start this make sure your hair is completely straight- it's always better to work with a blank canvas.
First,I recommend sectioning off your shortest layers and clipping them on your head, if you don't, it'll look like you're a poodle. next, section off your longest layers into as many big curls as you like. next, take your heat protector and spray the first section you decide to work on. Take an 1.5 (or 1) in. curling iron (I like to use Hot Tools Ceramics) and curl the first section. Now here's the tricky part- make sure that the curling iron is horizontal, and that the curling iron is a SPRING curling iron. Start repeatedly pushing down on the spring, making it go up and down like a see-saw. Eventually your curl should be out, but make-sure that it's still in a spiral. Take a hair pin and pin it to your head. Work through the rest of the hair. Remember, if your hair is hard to curl, after you curl each section, use a little bit of hair spray to make sure it stays in place. After you finish curling your hair, do one final spritz of hair spray against all of your hair. I find this the easiest and most easy-going hair style. Have fun at your dance! Also, I will post a second answer showing you another way.How do i Curl my hair?
I would go to a hairstylist to make it look picture perfect. IF you don't have the time, then take small sections of your hair and clip them in the curling irons small bottom peice that holds hair. Then slowly spin the iron while pulling it down so that your hair doesn't pile up in one place on the curler but goes all the way up the curling iron. If your hair is thin then keep it there for about 40 seconds and if it is thick then about 30. You should do a left or right side part (you choose) and then french braid your chin-length bangs back and then secure with a flower clip. If you have layers than start from the top of your hair and move down. French braid hair first before curling.

How do you keep long hair healthy when you curl it everyday?
I curl my hair with a curling iron daily and i always use tresemme heat tamer spray for heat protection but the ends still get split and are very dry so i always end up having to get a haircut when i want to grow it out longer. My hair is colored with lots of layers.(It's also pretty thin as well) What else do i need to do? Are there any other products i'll need? please and thank you! Use a deep conditiong treatment. I would alternate between deep conditioning treatments and reparing masks every other week. It works amazingHow do you keep long hair healthy when you curl it everyday?
curling your hair daily is one of your problems. the heat is very damaging to your hair, because it drys out the moisture in your hair. try using rollers in your hair at night. have somebody roll them in for you while your hair toweled dry/wet, and use clips to hold them in place. yes it will be hard for you to sleep but there is no damage to it or use a blow dryer on low, its less more damaging than the iron. and you wouldn't have to cut your hair as much. but also getting your hair trimmed every 4-8 weeks is good for your hair. using a salon shampoo is also good to.
I would use Aveda Style Prep Smoother. If that weighs down your hair too much then try Aveda Damage Control.
If you want a heat protectant thats really going to work then you need to get it at a salon.

Even while applying heat protector, irons do, unfortunately, still damage your hair quite a bit. I think you should stop applying so much direct heat to is, or at least to the ends, because in the long run it's really unhealthy for your hair to be experiencing so much while you're still young...

No matter what you do, heat will always damage it. There's not a foolproof way to avoid that. You could try lowering the heat and trying different heat products. Or you could also buy shampoos that enforce curls. They may not be as strong as the ones with heat, but they definitely look more natural and will keep your hair very healthy. How do you keep long hair healthy when you curl it everyday?
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm

Hi I curl my hair with a 1'; curling iron and my curls look so nice once I'm done with it but only an hour later my curls already start to go flat. What products can I put in my hair to keep them from going flat? I heard mousse (Sunsilk) works but do I put it in before or after I curl? How can I keep my curls from going flat after I curl my hair?
1.use a straightener instead and use a weather proof hairspray. like by john freida.
2. don't wash your hair the day you curl. wash a day of two before. clean hair doesn't hold to curls well. How can I keep my curls from going flat after I curl my hair?

Does anyone know how to curl hair without burning it?
I have long hair pass my shoulders and is cut into layers and sora wavy when it's dry.I try curling my hair with a curling iron but I always burn my hair!!
And I don't want to sleep in curls all night or hot rollers.Would curling shampoo do the trick? what else do you know would might work? thanks a whole bunch! :-)Does anyone know how to curl hair without burning it?
I dont know how you burn your hair. Try buying a curling iron with a variety of heat settings. You dont try to curl it when it is still damp do you? I know you can really damage your hair that way.
Have you tried blow drying with a large round brush? Or velcro curlers?Does anyone know how to curl hair without burning it?
Dont let it heat up as long or get a curling iron that doesnt heat up as hot!
You need to turn down the heat on your iron or get one with adjustable heat settings. Not everyone needs the iron on high!!! Actually most girls don't. I hope this helps!!
I have once read that some Hollywood hair stylist actually use the disposable roll inside the toilet paper instead of rollers to get soft curls
turn down the heat. OR blow dry your hair until it is ALMOST dry then use curlers. (available everywhere) curl up your hair with it. then after that use blow dryer on it. use a little hairspray. then uncurl the curlers. voila
i have hair too the middle of my back or longer and i straighten my hair at least 3 times a week and curl it and i use redken smoothdown, heatglide or charles worthington from walmat and they work great you cant even tell i style my hair the redken you can get it at any hair salon good luck
if buying heat adjustable curlers is not an option. I suggest you take a wet towel and use it to cool down the curler before curling your hair. You may have to do this for each curl or possibly every other curl. (you know your curlers better than i do)
I do suggest, however, that you invest in a new pair, because soon those damaged ends will continue to move up the shaft of your hair and it will be short because of dead ends or short because you had to cut it off.

How can i get my hair to curl?
Okay. I have long hair. About half way down my back. And it's very thick. In fact to thick to hold a curl with a curling iron aloe. can some one please give me any suggestions on way to use to curl me hair? thanksHow can i get my hair to curl?
Okay what you need to do is when your hair is wet put some moose and rub it in your hair and then kind of scrunch your hair (like squeeze our hair) And then spray some hair spray and it should look curly! :)How can i get my hair to curl?
I have the same hair, and what I do is I take a shower so my hair is wet. Then I twist it all up and twist it into a bun. I then secure it will a large clip. Once it dried (it takes a while, so you may want to blow dry it some while it's up) take it out and hairspray and there ya go!
